Gap fill : by weekday
Check out one of our founders explaining this report in the video below:
Every day of the week can be different in terms of trading. That's why it's helpful to see each day of the week separately and how that affects the gap being filled/not filled.
You can pick the day of the week at the bottom of the graph shown in the screenshot below:
In the example above, we picked gap fills on a Monday. So what does this tell us?
Gaps up on a Monday Gap downs on a Monday
The blue area show how often gaps The blue area show how often gaps
Up on Monday fill, 52% of the time. Down on Monday fill, 76% of the time. The black area shows how often gaps The black area shows how often gaps
Up Monday don’t fill, 48% of the time. Down Monday don’t fill, 24% of the time
HOW DO I USE THIS IN MY TRADING ?
Depending on what day of the week you trade. The rate at which the gap fills can change. Filtering data by day of the week can help you make a more informed decision on how to include gap fill data in your trading. If a certain day has a high chance of a gap filling, then you want to target the gap on that day as a take profit area. If a certain day has a high chance of the gap NOT filling, then use the gap as a point where price will reject.
